Product FAQs

Questions about Classic Grey T1

What tile size is T1 good for?
Small ceramic wall and floor tiles, generally up to 300×300 mm, in interior areas. Above that size, or outdoors, move to T2.
Can I use T1 for vitrified tiles?
Not reliably. Vitrified tiles absorb almost no water and need the higher polymer content of T2 or T3 to develop a dependable bond.
Is T1 suitable for a bathroom?
Yes, for small ceramic wall and floor tiles in an interior bathroom — it is water resistant and non-sag. For large or vitrified tiles in the same bathroom, use T2.
How much area does a 20 kg bag cover?
Roughly 20–30 sq ft, depending on substrate, notch size, tile size and the applicator's skill. With small tiles and a 6 mm notch you will be at the higher end.
Can T1 be used on a wall over old tiles?
No. Tile-on-tile work needs T2 as a minimum, because the adhesive has to grip a glazed, non-absorbent surface on both sides.
What is the open time, and what if I exceed it?
30–35 minutes. If the combed bed has skinned over, the tile will not wet out — scrape it off and re-comb rather than pressing harder.
